reptile for this beast?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
with some time in the setup, you could make a really nice cage for a group of ackies (dwarf monitors). they are managable size, good personality, could keep multiple together, and easy to breed. once you have a clutch of reptile eggs your wife will most likely get a bit more aproving of different reptiles. no one can resist the lil babys.

dart frog with a small pondish little thing in the bottom, would be so cool uber sweetness. in the pond in the bottom do archers, with a smaller pond next to it where your darts can lay their eggs.

Once the archers get a little bit of size they would try and eat the darts and you dont want to have deep water with darts they are poor swimmers and would probably drown.

The darts would drown and/ir get eaten by the archers.

Get a pair of Australian Water Dragons.

that would look nice setup as a water dragon setup.

In a tall tank like that, you need something that climbs. Get an iguana! They're attractive, fairly easy to manage, and grow to just the right size!

i hope this is a joke. that enclosure isnt even close enough to hold an iguana. they can get up to 6 feet long lol. do some more research:D

you could go with some smaller monitors; timors and so one.
you might be able to get away with a single sailfin dragon, possibly a pair.
any of the water dragons would work out well.

just start looking around and see what catches your eyes. just because the tank is tall doesnt mean you have to get an arboreal rep. with the height you could get a rep that loves to dig and ust build hte substrate up. lots of options with this tank.

keep us posted:D

thanks for all the suggestions guys! some good info here.

now i almost have the the wife talked into a turtle setup, been wanting one for over 20 years so i hope this works out. if i go this route i will flip the tank to make the footprint 5'x4' and could make a pretty dope setup for a turtle(s). we will see.

Oh and if yuou can cut glass, put a down pipe so u can just drain the water into a bucket and then refilll much easier , a friend has has big glass tank done like that, he paid someone to do the whole, but it was ice and easy only took about 5 minutes to drain and refill

Mountain horned dragons would work well in a tank of that size. Or you could get a leachie or tokay geckos!!! A bunch of crested geckos might work in there.

Archers are brakish water so incopatible with poison frogs. Poison frogs by their turn easily drown in deeper water. Bad combo:grinno:
