I dont think Australia has milksnakes... we have AWESOME carpet Pythons...Ball Pythons i THINK are banned from importing into Australia...

So carpet snakes are nippy? :( any other choices? I would love a ball python, but it grows really big :P

Carpets get bigger than Ball Pythons, and Ball Pythons are about as tame as it gets.
 
Ball pythons are banned in Australia...just looked at the reptile allowed list.... What about Jungle Pythons?
 
Are sand boas legal there? If so that is what I would suggest.
 
No access to sand boas either... Jungle, Carpets, And Spotted are widely available...

Can someone tell me the temperment of the jungle and growth?
 
Spotted would be your best choice. Jcp are gonna get too big and your height is also too short

You don't exactly have the correct housing or knowledge for a carpet python or a jungle python as those two get larger than ball pythons and are far nippier as well. How about a Stimson's python? There are some more colorful variations of them then the one that's pictured on this care guide.

Can you give us a link to the list of approved species so that we have something to go off of?
