I don't know Ryan, it could have been a cornsnake or a Fox snake that you saw. Temperment I guess depends on the snake and the snake species. Garters are usually pretty nippy at first, but some of them I can pick up without being bit. Ring-necked snakes on the other hand are really docile and I've never been bit by one before. I wish I could say the same for Northern Water Snakes. They are some mean MoFo's and will bite you at any chance they get!

Some good shots Seth mate! I find that the shots tend to get better the more you go out. Usually I just snap as many shots as possible (not saying leave anything to luck), but i don't stop till something is either very pissed, or it goes of its free will. Some times shots you thought would be good turn out rubbish and vice versa.

This is so true Davo. I must have taken over 20 pics of that garter snake and these were the only good ones. I don't have much experience taking pics of wild herps. I have only practiced on my pets which obviously are used to me!

ya i tend to bite when police try to keep me sitting in a chair and take mug shots...i joke i joke but nice pices. i like the last two

I especially love the second picture you took, really nice :D

Yeah, he looks fab on the photie. You did a really good job. I've just took some photos of my new hognose on my phone, but it doesn't do him justice as phone cam is crap! I can (maybe not so safely) say I have avoided a bite from a snake as of yet, though its all to come *dreads* and thats with over enthuiastic feeders and just plain nasty ones too! Haha, tempting fate maybe!

Thanks Jessica, isn't he a little cutie! And he only bit me 3 times too!:)

LOL. I think he was fed up of posing. Can't get the models these days.

Jessica... look forward to the pics... if it bites you, just don't let it chew your finger :)

Lol I know.. hes only about 22 cms though so probably can't break the skin yet lol. saying that im still worried for some mad reason lmfao.

Snake bites are no big deal to me... most time it just the shock that get you. Majority of the snake bites I recieve don't really hurt. Although... some got nasty set of teeth and GNAWS. The gnawing is worse than the bite really.
