What exactly are you looking for? I rarely buy anything at a pet supply place as I can get nearly everything I need at Lowe's, Walmart, etc.

I've been looking for a nice hiding cave.

How big is it? If it is 5', then a small kitty litterbox is fine.

You could knock a hole in a flowerpot and sand off the edges.

You could use some epoxy glue and make your own cave out of driftwood and/or rocks.

I'm not trying to discourage going to a reptile supply outlet but I just never saw the point of shelling out $20+ for a plastic cave when I find something for a third of the price (or free!).

Those 'hiding caves' are always far too large and open. They completely ignore the point of a HIDE SPOT. Unless you have another hiding place or this is just a basking spot or something, get a real hide.

Like ophi said, get those flowerpot saucers and knock a hole in it.

And if you make your own cave, you can actually make it, well, A HIDE.

you can even skip the blackjungle and save a ton on cork tubes and slabs by visiting gardening sites..... I have a great one.... oakhillgardens.com I only buy my cork wood from there. Everything else is from lowes.... and my raise up cages are custom built tanks or vision cages.
