I was there on Sunday and was checking out the larger GTs and wasn't crazy about them, to be fair however they were trade-ins and looked like they were kept in less then Ideal conditions by the previous owners. One about 6" TL looked like it had potential with some TLC and time. They had some nice little ones, I bought a small 1.5 with a nice saum showing to grow out. If your not in a hurry find few smaller ones around 3" and spend 6 months growing them out. Then you could pick the best looking one to breed.
 
Yea but were can i buy some good gt's i see a lot on here that look amazing with huge nuchual humps? My lfs doesnt have to good of gt's
 
You're going to have a hard time finding one the size you want. As mentioned your best bet is finding someone trying to sell one they raised. Stores usually only have them that size if they are trade-in's. Check the lists in the vendor forum

You gotta buy them little and grow them out. And if you want a good one I suggest Rapps. You are probably not gonna find a good large one.

rapps dont have any in stock.....
 
still no luck... if anyone knows any online site/ breeder that will ship please tell me....
 
If your in Cali. try American Cichlids in Colorado they have some 2.5" fish in stock. Shipping should be a lot less then from NJ.
 
thanks everyone i am working with someone that has a 7'' wild caught male havent seen any pics yet just waiting.....
