Fish are babys. Max in tank is 3" i took a bottle to the local fish shop and they said the water was good. The entire setup was given to me and was ran just the way i have it as an african cichlid tank. The tank was running for years before it was taken down and replaced with a bigger tank.

get yourself a API testing kit. then you can test yourself.

There going to be in the tank for maybe 2 months. 2 300 gal tanks in the works. The puffer fish i was told does better in fresh water until it matures? I guess thats wrong? I have a tank for him already. Just need to cycle it.

I dont know if i stated above, but the flowerhorn is in a tank placed inside the 80 gal. He was free and his tank is not finished cycling yet. Theres really only the figure 8 puffer, a jaguar cichlid and a peacock bass. I can get the puffer out asap if need be.

hey everyone, i have an 80 gallon tank housing a peacock bass (was 2 lost 1 last night)
a figure 8 puffer
a jaguar cichlid
and a flowerhorn in quarantine ( his tank is cycling at the moment)

you have way to many incompaitable fish.... puffer needs brackish water, jag needs a 75 alone, same with the flower horn and peacock bass needs a 180 min.....

Geez here we go with this nonsense. Do you just make these numbers up? 1 Flowerhorn and 1 Bass in a 180?? The figure 8 puffer does not need brackish water.

Anyways, back on topic. Just continue to do your research and ask questions here. As the fish grow, you will certainly need to look at upgrades.

What nonsence? The thread is pretty clear. I was told by my LFS that the figure 8s only required brackish water as an adult. There was no speak of a 180 gal tank. I have a 2.5" flowerhorn in a 5 gal containter inside the 80 gal as he kills other fish. He has a 40 gal cycling right now. But once he out grows that i will probably sell him. So for approx 2 months there will be a peacock bass and a jaguar cichlid in the 80 gal. Bass is 3" jag is maybe 2". Im sure i can get the 2 months i need out of the 80 gal.
