will that combo be ok?? i just came up on a 6" soft shell from someone that was geting rid of it cuz he was moving, would i be able to mix these two diff species? i have 4 RES and only 1 soft shell. tank already has out of water basking spot and light. thxx

soft shell turtles are way aggressive compared to RES. i wouldn't keep them together. soft shellies are best kept alone.
how big is your tank? sounds like your already over stocked

Softshells are pretty mean. If they are all the same size you'd be good but that won't last for long (unless you got a male softshell). Most softshells grow a lot bigger than RES.

ive seen ppl keep adult redears with softys but they grew up together from hatchlings. i dont know how good of an idea it would be to mix them that late in life but they would probly be alright. unless you have a huge tank, id think the soft shell would get stressed from that many tank mates.
