They're terribly underrated and grossly under appreciated.
There's part of me that believes that if they were incredibly difficult to breed they'd probably get their due.
The fact they are so prolific really works against them. The inexperienced hobbyist is rarely prepared for the quantity of dry that inevitably comes their way. And many experienced aquarists will turn up their nose at a fish that will spawn in the bag if the ride home from the LFS takes long enough.
