Hi all .... sorry for not updating sooner
Got to the "big" store on Friday and got dandelion (I am male ..no flowery crap), endive (no thanks) and watercress (Oh My nom nom nom Gawd! what is nom nom nom this heavenly nom nom nom stuff)
Hurray:D:headbang2Thouse are really super foods for igs(and also for humans, Im a big macho male and I do eat my soup and salad;)) :naughty: Do you already have the uv buld? If yes thouse in combinacion with the heat and the sintetized vit d3 the ig will produce will make its bonnes rock hard in no time:D If you can get him outside a bit during mid day with warmer temps(hard now I know but worth trying) for a lilte sun bath will also help.
He has started having almost solid bowel movements now as well and drank on his own.
Owesame:D
He has a rather nasty habit of pooping in his bathtub but I guess it makes it easier to clean out.
Its a 100% natural thing for igs to do and you can actualy potty train him using that, its easy mine are both;) Just use warm water. Some guys trained their´s to do their stuff on the toilet with a mesh on top of it
To respond about a separate heat source other than the ceramic... we do have a red heat lamp as well. It is above the cage on the chicken wire roofing.
Its fine;) The disavantage its that some igs cant sleep with it (nine cant go figure:grinno:) and that it lasts less then a ceramic lamp
My main concern with how his current habitat is would be that he seems to think he is a sugarbaby when it comes to going down levels. Broken bones are something I don't want to have to try and set on an ig.
Yea wach out for that. Setup more platforms if you fell they can help. Include a bit zoomeds reptivite in the food a cople of times a week for the next 2-3 weeks and you should be fine. By the way I think your ig its a young boy:D Whit tender love and care you will make a owesame male ig like Mike´s ;)

Did I already said how improved he looks and how much already I like him?:D:headbang2

Does anyone else's Ig have the habit of doing side swipes with his/her head while eating?
It looks like he is trying to rip the food from a tree or bush... which is rather odd when it is sitting nicely chopped on a plate.

So I had an odd thought.
Trying to get the humidity up in a wood burning home in the winter. High enough for an iguana.
Good Luck!
Then I thought that a nursery humidifier ( the 8 hour variety) might work.

comments or critiques?

I think its a bit over kill:confused: You have to make sure you have a closed habitat(with vents of corse, but not something like a bird cage) so to keep heat and moist in. I moist mine every other day and never had problems. Unlike many others my igs absolutley hate bath so I allmost never give them one. :D

Get collard greens, mustard greens , butternut squash, parsnips and bell peppers for some extra color.
Take the center vein out of the collard leaves and chop the leaves up small ,the squash you cut off the ends split in half remove the seeds then grate the remaining squash on a coarse cheese grater . The reason to cut things up is it makes digestion easier and they can fit more in there belly.
Also make sure the BASKING area is 90 to 95 degrees.
I would get rid of the little water dish and try to fin a plastic tub about 5 inches deep that will fit on the bottom of the enclouser at on end so she can soak and poop in water, also get a stealth brand aquarium heater about 50 to 75 watts to keep the water warm that will also help to keep humidity up too.

go to www.reptileuv.com for the best uvb lights in the industry. They last a lot longer than the tubes and put out a ton more uvb waves.
