..wow cant people be happy he is rescued and looking great?..better to be in a smaller well kept tank for now, then beat to death in a small tank?..

nice save and lovely fish!
good luck!

What size is the Jag? I don't think people are trying to be mean about the tank size issue. The problem is that Jags do grow pretty big, both in length and girth. Depending on what size the Jag is now will determine how long you will be able to house it in a 75. You did a good thing by rescuing it from a small and aggressive tank. When the time comes I'm sure you'll do the same about the tank size if it is too small.

This site is about eduction as much as it is to say 'Hey, look how cool my fish looks'. There's absolutely nothing wrong with someone with experience giving advice to someone with less as long as is not given to them with a flamethrower. Whether they want to take that advice is up to them but it's put there just in case.

But if it makes you feel better....wow, what a great looking fish. It's better to be kept in small tank for now then get beat to death in a small tank.

balton , i think you just like to talk . fish need fresh water to live . no filters and no tank are good enough without fresh water . its the water , so if someone is willing to work they could keep that fish healthy and growing with 2 sponge filters in his tank . i have done it, i have not always been able to buy what i want and when i was young (about 30 years ago)i had 17 tanks in my house and had 3- 100 gallons with 2 sponge filters in them (and smaller ones too) only and its work but it can be done , 75 gallons is plenty

balton , i just looked at your threads and you ask really simple questions , like about your live food ,if you had experience you wouldn't ask or about your male red terror's face ,i didn't finish reading it because i know that its your water , you could keep the ph up with some additive or crushed coral in your filters for fish that are sensitive , you don't know a whole lot to beating on or making these happy fishkeepers unhappy ,

Of course you only read part of a thread and then start up your flame thrower. If you had read the "Festae's face turned black" thread, you would know that the fish was at my lfs in their show tank. It wasn't my fish and please refrain from name calling. Sorry that I thought your were new to fish keeping but I stand by my claim that a Jag needs more than a 75 gallon tank for life...again, not due to filtration, please pay attention when reading posts. I've seen them 16"+. I know that a 75g is 18" wide but 4' doesn't leave enough room to swim back and forth. It's my belief a male jag needs a minimum footprint of 6' x 18". If I'm stupid for that then consider me stupid. Again, my apologies for thinking you were new but a lot of new people give bad advice and that's what I thought had happened....take care.

Can I put that first sentence in my sig?

I think I will have to agree with balton here (which we confirmed when we became best friends) that for life that tank is not the most comfortable situation. It is better than what it was in. Either way, I'm not a flamethrower (not yet, i still throw rocks) but I'm looking forward to my jag growing out. No worries, he's in a 150.
