Hello all. I recently rescued a huge male and smaller egg laying female midas from a LFS that some owner dropped off. They had been there for about 6 months and In a dirty 75 gallon. The male is around 13"+ and female is about 7" they looked very unhappy so i offered the owner $40 and took them home. They seemed healthy enuff to put in my 265g and being midas they wouldnt get picked on. I was right. Lol.
The problem is that they both have an issue with floating. Its like they cannot sink, they swim around at the very top of the water so much so even their dorsal fins are sticking out of the top of the water. The male chases other fish away like a spunky midas would but floats back to the top. Its like they are too buoyant. They look like bobbers almost they seem a little reclusive but otherwise healthy. Anyone seen this before? I havent.
