So I found this at my LFS and grabbed him. He is in a 10 gallon taking a melafix bath for the next week or so to see if it heals him. I have had wonders done with melafix and 82+ temps.
...but I dont know what kind of cat he is. He is 6 inches, jet black. I raised the brightness in the first pic so you could see his features to make an ID easier hopefully.
Any help with his identity would be greatly appreciated. If he heals, Im going to try him in my 265 Central American tank.
Im thinking maybe either Hemisynodontis membranaceus or Brachysynodontis batensoda...but I dont know. I ve never had cats before.

I hope the gill curl heals...
! Obviously he wasnt, but its a gaping wound like he was. Ill do my best. My festae had the same wound and the melafix cured it in about a wweek, and within 10 days I could hardly tell it had happened.
