Rescued silver aro-looks like it's been in a car wreck

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Getting there my man! Very noble thing to do for that fish, there are always a bond between a fish and the person that keeps it, something like this only strengthens that. Looks positive for the silver atm and if he pulls through looks like you could be mates for while to come. :headbang2

Thank you everyone for your kind words and support! Everyone was telling me I should just euthanize it when I got it, but I've grown quite attached to it in these last few weeks and could never bring myself to put it down due to its rough past. It is looking so much better already in the short amount of time I have had it and I'm looking forward to seeing its progress over the next few months. I'm leaving it in the 170 gallon for the time being, as I will drug it one last time before moving it into the 230 and have one more go at the eye if need be. I see there is a bit of tissue I missed after the second surgery and I noticed there is a small growth on the tail that I will snip off. The arowana did not cooperate very well when I caught it the second time, so drugging it will be the safest and least stressful (for me and the fish lol) method of moving it into the other tank. I will post a video of me hand feeding it tomorrow.

Hats off to You!

Surely no one at MFK even hinted at euthanasia! We all were crossing our fingers for that Old Warrior.

Awesome job, sir! Looking forward to her progress. Keep up the great work!
