Rescued Snakehead, ID and tips?

yeah, I love them! so sad that when I go back to the states I wont be able to keep 'em :( any other predators I can keep in the states that would sorta replace these guys? A small and vicious hunter? I've been looking into Red Wolf fish but those seem few and far apart.

I think a bowfin would be cool. They look like North Americas version of snakeheads.

It's been almost 3 years since I've been home to California. I'm really homesick, and the only thing that keeps me from thinking about home is being able to keep snakeheads.
 
Yeah, they really are great fish, eating right outa my hand on day 6! Will do research on the bowfin. Where in cali where you fish_sauce?

C. punctatta is a very common and widely distributed snakehead from India. So it is not rare at all. I comes in for very low prices. But lots a people prefer more colourful and active snakeheads, punctata is sometimes shy (esp. wild caught ones) and so importers do not often order them.
