Hello all :)

I got an injured wild caught Hoopoe a few days ago when I was gone camping, the next day all our local newspapers front pages were gone like "Bird Flu hits Kuwait" and daaaaaarn did my parents make a big deal out of it :irked:
So anyway, my bird doesn't have Flu... took it to the vet and was told that the wounds are most likely from a Falcon bite, now that the bleeding stopped it's personallity came out and the only thing that I can compare it to is a drunk Shih Tzu :headbang2 the thing is a bit out of balance cause it lost it's tail from the attack (no worries, it'll grow back) and somehow it's now tame and all
So meet Alex the Hoopoe :D

thant thing is bad ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what does it eat? insectavore? tell me more.

They are migrating birds, they only come here at the end of winter.
I remember his last days, when I opened the cage he would walk out and wait for food :)
Very smart!!
All birds are smart..even chickens .. if you kept a chicken as a pet you would not believe how incredibly smart they are.. It was too bad this little fellow did not make it..but it is good of you to have tried.. I did this with a homing pigeon that lost its way..i hope i had success..after i had it rested and healthy..i set it free to go back on its journey home.. hopefully it made it.. :)

That's too bad he died. Kudos for taking him in though...it was a good try.

That was one bada$$ looking bird too.
