Resealing a large tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Water is going back in. Gotta love leak testing 540 gallons in your livingroom!! I still have one more brace to install and I will be completely redoing the lids for the tank. Hoping to have fish in it before I take off for the Holiday weekend.

Wow. No pressure right? (Pun intended).

Do you have any precautions in place, just in case something happens?

The tank looks good, no worries at all....YET. However I do have a drip from a pipe leaving the overflow box. Look at this pic. What is the gray putty on this? It was there when I bought the tank. And it kind of looks like JB weld. Can I remove it and replace it, or do I need to empty the tank again to pull this joint apart and reset it?

Just drain the main tank to a level where it won't drain into the overflow. Then empty the overflow and replace the bulkhead with an entirely brand new bulkhead and seal. I would replace both at the same time and save some headache down the line.
