Tried to reseal my 210 gallon today.. put way too much silicone an made a mess!.. gonna have to wait for it to cure scrape prep an try it allll over again... ive resealed a small tank before much easier... hard to see large tanks on your own!.. plus i have to use a step stool because tank is on stand an too heavy to put on ground ! blahhh wish me luck!

I can imagine its gotta be a pain... but have you considered getting into the tank to seal it?

i thought of that but was scared of breakin somthing... the frame of the tank sits on the stand but none of the glass touches the stand... but i assume if it holds all that water why not hold me i guess??? im nervous to stand in there god forbid it breaks!

good luck but that water weighs alot more than you do.

True, but the weight is spread out.

Have someone help you and lay it on its side like ross said. Be sure to use acetone or similar to prep the area first. Messy will still seal, just look like crap. Good luck.

i resealed my 6ft 125 recently. i taped off where the silicone was going but left like half an inch gap so i could make nice lines then used ge1 silicone (important remove tape before dry lol). i cut the corners off of a plastic putty knife so i could smooth it out. just make sure you do it in layers or itll take like two weeks to dry and those fumes are only released while the silicone is drying. oh and wear a respirator those fumes are no joke they WILL cause permanent health issues. good luck.
