Sturgeon tend to die to quickly in tanks, regardless of the temps

..Walmart no less!!! I rescued them and put them in my 180. Less than a year later I had to rehome them(about 16" +)!!! I knew what I was getting into but the person I rescued them from had no idea what they were in for.
.. But they took walmart's word that an upgrade to a 55g would be needed. They pacu would all be fine for life in a 55
!!! As monster fish keepers here on this site--most of us have filters bigger than a 55g aquarium--and I still couldn't keep them to adulthood--RESEARCH!!!!!!

People just dismiss it and buy what they want regardless of the end results..PPl would rather just buy an aro for a 55 because they are cool and then post a "help me" thread in a few months. This thread was a waste of time...

You have a good point...pi-eyed;4457903; said:Yeah..I know... But you have to try--at least I do.. If one person puts aside what they want for a minute to research, then we have helped out the hobby and the fish.
Good thread,

screaminleeman;4457995; said:While I agree on the main point (Research first!) I think you have a MAJOR "MONSTER" flaw in your logic:
It is easy to use any search engine just the same as it is to use google. The problem is that it is just as easy to get flat out extremely poor, misleading or even intentionaly false information on the internet through any search engine. This requires the casual user to visit numerous sites in order to gain any kind of confidence in the quality of the information that they have recieved. Even then, and probably in MOST cases, the results will be so diverse that the user is no better off then before they started their quest!
The beauty of a forum like this is that you have a wealth of knowlege in this hobby all in one place at your command. When you get the inevitable unsound data or even rude peoples falsehoods, there are plenty of very good hearted experienced fish keepers that WILL chime in and allow for a far more educated and accurate set of information from your quest.
In addition, experienced users can give added value related to the topic that you are researching that the user would have otherwise had no clue as to query on the internet.
Interactive information beats the tar out of statis information everytime.

Funny! Batrachus trispinosus is well known as stonefish or toadfish, more than lionfish... Lionfish is well known as marine fishWyldFya;4358593; said:Funny, considering you are wrong. There is a 'freshwater lionfish', Batrachus trispinosus. Which is brackish, not marine.
Funny! You can spell, but can't tell the different between the two gourami. BTW, I use google.com, since google alone won't get you anywherepiggy67;4359063; said:Shows how much you really know. You should try google some time. Thats G-O-O-G-L-E........Have you ever saw a blue fry or a gg fry ? They look very similar.
