Researching for my first big snake

way to go on the feeding you seem to know what your doing and a true passion for these great animals.
first the only retics you could get that would not get over 18' would be dwarf's and they stay pretty small.
second burm's are the same thing they all get pretty big.
third yellow anaconda females get close to your range but max out at around 9 -10' and take 7 or more years to get there.

Alright, well I want to spend about 100-120 dollars on this snake and this will be in America dollars. I looked at the yellow anacondas before and I like them but I would lean more towards the green type because of its classic colours. I really do like the colours of the Burmese and I am leaning towards a male, but I dont want to get one that has a high chance of attaining 18'

Feeding your snake once a week is ok when they are young. But you have the right idea to feed them every 2-3 weeks when they get older. Feeding them less is definately not stunting them. These snakes in the wild barely eat once a month. Keeping these animals captive allows them to eat at your pace. A lot of people enjoy watching their snake eat and often end up with very large snakes that grow to how they are fed-too rapid. But ofcourse, this is only my opinion. Feed your snake to your own pace.

Oh dont worry, I am extremly contious about my snakes weight/excess fat on it body, and I will make sure it doesnt become obesse like 95% of other snakes you see on the internet.

all normal burms are going to get over 18' i believe. now there are different island species of retics that don't get as big as i believe its the melaniese or something. google island retic species. the green anacondas can be as aggresive as the yellows, with the males in both being the most aggresive.

Don't female red-tails get your 10 to 12 feet?
