Ok I posted a thread before and got like ZERO replies. Im going to try again with different approach. Im looking for local experts in specific SP. I will list the SP below. Im starting my first "True Monster Tank" after deployment. I want "experts only" (not just experts, just dont sayhe say she say, only facts) advice on the stock that Im going to list. Also I want "anyones" advice on other tank mates.

So here are my 2 tank options:
120x36x48 - 775G
120x48x48 - 1045

Confirmed Stock
2 Cichla Azul's
2 Cichla Kelberi
2 Datnioides NGT
2 Datnioides (IT or AT havent decided yet)

If someone could help me learn a little more about the SP listed above it will be greatly appreciated.

I am also looking for ideas for more stock, please help me out. Im greatly interested in Aro's, however I dont like Silver or greens and I think that Jars will be a problem in that tank. Also please do not list Gigas as I have not interest in owning that fish.
 
u should get some type of catfish........... id get a tig or something like that.......... ur stock is gona be cool but wit a 4ft wide id get a bagarius yarrelli and some cool type of tor with a very strong pump and keep tank arund 70...........
 
See this is what Im looking for, I have never heard of a Bagarius Yarrelli. Im looking it up now. Thats bro.

Bagarius Yarrelli could get really nasty with other tankmates.

that is an amazing sized tank. stocking so far looks great except for that with the NGTs you may want to add a third (they tend to bully when kept one on one) but in that tank volume they may be okay.

Also, look into other cichla sp as well. im pretty sure you would love the appearance of adult cichla pinima or orino.

as far as arowana go, for a legal, peaceful species a black aro is the way to go. you might be able to try a leichardti in a tank that size tho. also trey looking into Heterotis niloticus (african arowana)

and for other stock you may want to look into the following (most are species ive kept, others are species ive researched extensivly and am only waiting for the opportunity to aquire them):

Longnose Gar
Tropical Gar
Mormyrus Sp.
Emperor Cichlid
Potomorygon Sp.
Polyodon Spathula
Hydrolycus Armatus
Lates Sp.
Siniperca Sp.
Tigirnius Catfish


im sure theres more i am just failing to come up with them right now :naughty:

how big are the dats your planning on adding? due to their extreamly slow growth rate they could be an issue..

i also second taking a look at the african arowana (Heterotis niloticus).. by most standards its not exactly the best looking aro around but good god they move around a lot.. ALWAYS on the move..
