I just lost my favorite fish, Lucy. I have had Lucy for about nine years. When I got her she was about 3/4" of an inch, I measured her today at almost 11" and weighed 18.7 ounces, which is pretty good for a female red devil. We had an offer to sell her a couple of years ago and my wife informed me that that there was no way we were ever getting rid of her.
Lucy is the fish that got me into cichlids. She is also the fish that got my wife to like fish and realize that all large fish weren't killers that had to eat other fish to survive.
I called and let my wife know a few minutes ago to let her know and she imediately started crying. It's amazing how much you can get attached to a pet, even if they are "just a fish".
