Rest in Peace Lucy

She lived a long time, not that it makes you feel any better now. I do understand they become part of the family. That really sucks, it's as bad as your dog dying.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate the comments as did my wife.

Sorry for your loss. Not a lot of people can say they've owned a fish for 9 years.

I'm so sorry for your loss. 9 years is much longer than I've ever had a fish, and it reflects your dedication as a fish keeper. Did you ever breed her?

Thank you all very much. We were hoping to have her another five years or so but recently she has been very lathargic. I have been doing some extra water changes hoping to snap her out of it but it didn't help.

I never did try to breed her, she lived her life as a wet pet in her own tank and has been with us in our living room. She is the only fish that stays in the living room with us, the rest of my fish live in their own room.

There is no way to replace her but I will be getting another fish for her tank. It won't be the same though.
