we are not sure .. the vet just told us all her vital signs were whacked out.. the vet acknowledged that there was a colic and also her lungs were filled with fluid...there was little chance of survival and going to the equine hospital was not a option since she would not get up.. although she did finally stand for a moment.. they look at you and ask you for help with their eyes.. it is such a sad feeling when you cannot do anything... they are so big and massive.. it is not like you can carry them back to the barn and throw a blanket on them.. but she is at peace now .. and thats what matters,.... and yes 21 years together ..going to shows.. and watching her give birth to two babies.. she was a sweet laid back Lucy... thanks everyone.. i feel better with all your kindness... some days are just awful... we all have them.
