Restocking my 125 gallon

virgil2090 is giving you good advice. I would second the large SDs as a dither although I know what you mean about not too exciting. There are different types available. I would give whatever you put into the 125 besides the dithers awhile to get established and larger before you add the jag. That way it's lower on the totem pole from the get-go. Gives you a better chance of things working out. Don't have experience with FH's, but the JD didn't work out for me. Not tough enough although I will say I had 2 m/2 f in the tank at the time along with some oscars and SDs.

I had Jags kill oscars, plecos, convicts, danios, flowerhorn, jd, rock bass, list goes on. It also depends on temp of the Jag especially if he ever has been live fed. Some Jags won't kill a guppy but some Jags will even bury other fish with rock where I found my dead pleco. The males are very aggressive so its a trial and error. The Jag love to pick on fish and once they start they won't stop until that fish is gone. The only fish that was smaller and was able to hold its own against an agressive male was a wolf cichlid.

With the exception of the flowerhorns, the rest of the fish you listed are all way less aggressive than the jag...it isn't surprising at all...I think there is a chance tankmates can be kept with the jag, although it will be difficult finding a good mix considering the jag is not small...but worth trying

Well in the 40 he is currently in, he has been with a pleco for months, about the same size. They hang by each other all the time, though at times he will try and chase him... has never done a bit of damage though. I have a convict I'll have to throw in there but I'm confident he will survive just fine, there are unlimited amounts of hiding spots.

In my experience they are more territorial than over the top aggressive, but maybe that is just mine.

Johnny that jag looks huge haha. I think the salvini idea would work also, guess we'll see.

He is a beast he was a good breeding male for sometime but even in a 125 he killed one of my females a year ago. I think he is just over 14 inches all together. He is about 6 years old and was wild caught out of Florida.
