I like them, don't get me wrong but like toxicfish said, there a little too crazy for my liking. They're very active and a little skittish sometimes. If thats what you like than go with it. Just not my cup of tea.

thanks for the info. i will probably get the pictus and the pleco, just cause i do like the way the pictus seem more active, kinda why i like them. you think the blood parrots will bother the silver dollars? i always thought the blood parrots were supposed to be calmer cichlids like the severums. is there a possibility of adding more fish to the tank or does it sounds like it will be stocked just right? if so, what other fish would work in this setup?
Pictus cats are awesome! I have had my two for a couple of years now and they seem to have calmed down as they have got older, just don't keep them with small fish, my oldest Pictus went through a dozen Neons in a single weekend!
Not sure about the Blood Parrots though.
I have kept Firemouth with Pictus and Silver Dollars with no problems but when you add other Cichlids is when things start to get tricky.
