Pavon is all Peacock Bass. Sorry to have to tell you that. If they listed it that way then I am sure they meant all Peacock Bass.

ON THE LIST FOR RESTRICTED SPECIES IN OKLAHOMA IT SHOWS:
(9) Pavon or Peacock Bass (Chichla temensis and Chichia ocellaris).
DOES THIS MEAN ALL P BASS ARE RESTRICTED?

LAW WAS PROBABLY WRITTEN AT THE TIME WHEN THERE WERE ONLY 2 SPECIES OF CICHLA DESCRIBED AND KNOWN TO STATE OF OKLAHOMA.

Isn't it silly where fish are illegal where they couldn't even cause a problem for more than 2 months out of the year?

WHY RESPOND IF YOU HAVE NOTHING USEFUL TO SAY REGARDING THE TITLE OF THE THREAD? IF IT BOTHERS YOU DON'T READ IT.

He's just trying to make you a better person. If I were you, I'd listen.

Oh, and technically, regardless of when the law was written, only Chichla temensis and Chichia ocellaris are banned. I'm sure you can have any other P-Bass you'd like, but I'd ask a pet store. If they don't know the laws, they're put out of business.

Also, as for the texas question, it really depends how it was presented. If "Arapaima, Family Osteoglossidae - Arapaima gigas" is all on one line, or placed similarly to other list items, I think it's safe to assume that only Arapaimas are illegal.

NO BECAUSE CHICHLA AND CHICHIA ARE RESTRICTED BUT NOT CICHLA.:D

Would this be considered a grammatical loophole?Good one channa.

Yes that is a loop hole and you can get away with that. You should check out Maines list....almost everything is banned and alot of the stuff banned can't even live there cause of the cold weather they get every year let alone all the snow. Move to Rhode Island if you dont want a restricted list :)
