Thanks guys...I enjoy them.

Really, the only one who is cage aggressive is the Genetic Stripe. Once she's out, she's perfectly fine...just doesn't like to be fussed with, inside her enclosure.

then you are lucky. all of the ones that I have kept have been horrible as far as temperment goes.

MY DREAM SNAKE!!!!!

i was looking at a super dwarf albin lav the other day and he must have gone for me about 8 times in the space of 10seconds lol

my friend has a huge collection of retics, annies and olives.
the problems are the super tiger, one normal retic and one olive lol the rest r a dream.

They are gorgeus snakes especially with all of the morphs now but the agression really puts me off them as a species and especially with the massive size, they would be one id look out but dont think id keep lol.

i've only heard of normal dwarfs. how big do the super dwarfs get, and how much is the average price for a normal colored one? i like the normal color better, second only to the sunfire and sun tiger. how much more for super dwarfs of those, just curious..
can anyone answer?

Retics, typically, aren't the tempermental snakes, they used to be.

You get a captive bred specimen and of course, you'll get the pissy temperment, at first...but with handling, Retics calm down and are some of the best behaved snakes you'll find. Temperments that rank right up there with puppy dog tame Burms.

My Genetic Stripe is new(er). I haven't had as much time, as I usually do, to devote to a new arrival and get them used to being handled.

Every other Retic I own (minus a het albino Tiger) is puppy dog and doesn't even hiss, let alone strike or bite.

Now, to the gentleman, who asked about size and pricing...

Super Dwarf males will max out around 6', while females can hit 8', but rarely bigger than that. Dwarf males will hit 10' - 12', while it's not uncommon for a female Jampea (dwarf) to max out at around 14'.

Pricing really depends on genetics, whether it's het and what it's het for. My Super Dwarf male is 100% het albino and possible het Axanthic (a gene that has never been captive proven). He retails for upwards of $4,000. If my Retic guy proves out the Axanthic gene, they'll be $25,000+ snakes...so, fingers crossed. lol

You can pick up a really nice normal, Super Dwarf, for around $400, these days. Hets will obviously run you a little more and once you get into Dwarf albinos, you're looking at upwards of $1,500 - $2,000...more for Super Dwarf albinos.

We moved, during the past few days and my girlfriend had some slight problems, with the Genetic Stripe. lol! My girlfriend took it like a champ, though...doesn't mind being bitten and was laughing about it, pretty much the whole time...

LOL!
