Retic help

My 6" Girl wont eat anything else except Bloodworms but it is not filling her up. I have been doing 1oz every day and she is skinny (thats $2.00 bucks a day, everyday. I need to stop that). Her ribs are showing slightly and in the center of her ribs, shes starting to show a sinking hole. She is very active and is showing no signs of death curl or anything strange. So her health is not an issue

I need help on ways to get her onto SilverSides, shrimp or something more filling for her.

I tried to starve her for days at a time then give her shrimp... nothing

I tried to soak shrimp with the bloodworms for a week and then feed it to her but she dont want it (also did it with diced silversides)

rub the shrimp on the blood worm and try earth worms large lob worms do well aswell

silversides and shrimp are usually not accepted right off the bat, for now, try getting her on night crawlers. They'er alot cheaper and also alot bigger.

I did/do earthworms and she just chews them like gum... them spits them out. I have only tried earthworms maybe 4 times... ill try more

Yep, if shes only chewing and spitting, then you're halfway there. Try to cut smaller peices and she'll probably go for em.

Can you replace the blood worms with Black Worms?

Trout worms or panfish worms. Nightcrawlers are probobly going to be too big.

If this fails I'de be filling bigger worms with Bloodworms. You gotta do what is necassary.

Try mincing shrimp into an almost pouder..Do it when it is frozen. I get my rays (retics) to even eat veggies this way! I mince pellets with the shrimp sometimes too, and it works. Try mincing the shrimp bloodworms together for now. Mine will not eat blood worms. Easternaquatics has a great price on live black worms right now in the buy/sell.

And another tip...If you mince it..Squeeze it into a ball before you drop it in. It will help reduce the little pieces, from getting into filtration. It will sink, and then spread all in one spot. Let it go with your hand in the water. All of these thing are from my trial and error...lol
