Retic with bichirs?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ouch. That african clawed frog and the ropefish in the video are really going to get mauled. At least that's what I think given the size difference.

Blimey how big were the sens and rays for that to happen?

Steve

sens were 5-7" and the rays were 4"...i was thinking they would be fine as the sens wouldn't mess with my knives that would lay on the bottom and present the same/simmilar edge look...

I would say the rule of thumb is to keep only one bottom dwelling kind of fish on the bottom.

rays > bichirs in my opinion.

Every fish is different, so ya never know.

i disagree. people keep multiple bottom dwellers with no problems.

yet again every fish is different.

Yep, but most folks with rays, seem to only keep rays. Perhaps a cat or two with them like a tigrinius. At least from the vids and photos I've seen around here.

I should have been clearer when I said that and included "with rays" at the end of it.

I just recently got bichirs for my 120, so I don't have a lot of experience with them. They tend to be a bit nippy though. Which if that is the case for most bichirs, it seems like it would stress the ray.

the ray will do nothing to the bichir. fish commonly pick on rays by picking at their eyes. i'd worry about the ray.

id keep the ray alone for a while. the bikes will get the rays food before the ray does. that ray is a picky eater. trust me. i still have the other 3
