Nope, probably not. he's more likely to just try and run away and that will stress him.

sorry for not using our native tounge but it's not very popular ;)

It could be eithe heater burn or have been caused by the pleco, plecos are natorious for sucking the slime coat off of rays

I have no heater. The pleco may be responsible, I dont know.

my ray loves to try and squeeze into tight places. (he must think he is smaller than he actually is) sometimes he cuts himself on a piece of driftwood ect and thats what this looks like. it will most likely heal in 2-3 days if you turn up the heat a little and add the right amount of salt.

Turn up the heat to what? It's already 26-27 C. What is the right amount of salt? I've heard everything from 3 tbs/100 liters up to 1.5 dl/100 liters.

80-82 Fahrenheit is cool, your gonna have to convert that to C. try a tablespoon for every 5 gallons but dissolve each spoonful in a cup of tankwater first

That does not look like a pleco bite in my opinion... but hard to tell.

Btw personally i would not have turned up the heat.. higher temperatures = better conditions for potential bacterias and fungus.

Work computer won't let me see the pictures you posted. But based on everyones comments, your biggest priority should be keeping it clean. Depending on how bad it is, I would even suggest pulling the ray out and doing a medicated dip with an antibacterial of some kind.

I'd look at pulling the pleco out as well - as mentioned they do like to chew up rays,
