Well after being out of the hobby for around 5 years it was finally the right time to get back into it. It sucked having to get rid of everything but that is just part of life and growing up but I'm excited to be back at it. Starting it back up for now with a 75 gallon with three 2-3” Lapidifers. They were my favorite fish when I had my 180 gallon and I am so happy to have them again. First three pictures are from right when i put them in the tank after I picked them up from the airport about a week ago. And the rest are pics from today.

Nice fish! They almost look like something out of Africa more than the Amazon. Super interested in their growth

They are a unique fish for sure. I remember the last time I kept these they grew relatively slow but the way their colors change is pretty cool to see

They love their shrimp.This guy is already showing some nice red in the tail.

Some pics of the new guys.... 3 Retroculus Xinguensis. Pretty small size with the biggest one being around 1.5”. Was curious to see how the Lapidifers were going to do since they are around 3” now. I remember from the last time keeping retroculus I had a 3” Lapidifer and a 1” Xinguensis and they were fine but every fish is different. I will be keeping a close eye on them. Now it’s time to start getting their permanent tank ready.
