I got my polli at a decent size, but after having it a few years, it's pushing 14 inches. It's going to take an ornate much longer to get to full size. I got my ornate at about the same size probably a year before the polli and it's only pushing 17 inches. It was a bit aggressive when I first got it, but it's pretty tame now. Guess I'm saying they might last together longer than you think.
Kudos to the Ancient fish * Polypterus group. I love the way you guys answer all questions and not refer to the "search" feature of this forum in some condescending tone.
The very first question the OP asked could of went south and we might have lost a new MFKer. As I continued reading, each post became more and more interesting/valuable to me personally. For example, I had no idea the difference of upper jaw and lower jaw. I heard the term a few times but it never sunk in.
I think this thread is positive feed back to the mods of this section and the Poly group in general. This thread should be used as a "guide" for Mods of other forums on MFK. We need new enthusiastic people to join this site, the more the better! Thankfully this OP started his MFK experience here in the Poly area!
