Hey everyone I just needed some advice on a retropinnis bichir. I saw one at the pet store about 7 inches long for 25 dollar. Is that a good price. Also and more importantly what should it look like. I am new to the world of Bichirs but I think they are awesome. Also any tankmate suggestions I have a senegal bichir already would they be compatible. Thanks in advance

many stores mix up retropinnis with palmas polli or other bichirs. But its a good price for a Retropinnis.

There are some polypterus palmas polli that are sometimes labeled as polypterus retroppinis. But if it's really a true retro bichir, then that's a good price.
I'll buy anything that i like if its within a budget...

As long as it's not a sene(which I'm sure you already know it's not) it's a good price for any bichir of any sub-species.

those are both palmas polli:
the retros have a slender, longer body shape and more dorsal finlets than the palmas polli.
