which one gets bigger, also i know its prolly personal opinion but which one is cooler, im pretty sure the one at the store is a retropinnis

both get around 12"
I like the retropinnis more, but maybe thats just because i have the only one in the country and its more rare than the common palmas polli. Both look good but some polli´s can be pretty dull colored.

I just went and bought it. He's awesome. Are there any easy ways to tell retro appart from palmas cuz from the pics i see they look pretty similar

Also count the dorsal finlets.
But a clear pic would be best if your not sure yourself

The head shape of p. palmas polli is lot more pointy, while the p. retropinnis have wider head similar to a p. weeksii if you look at from the top view. Also the first dorsal finlet of a p. palmas polli starts from mid section of the body, while p. retropinnis first finlet starts just pass the mid section of the body similar to the p. mokelembembe.
BTW not all retro have that spiral pattern around the eyes.
