If in fact the tank broke, wheres the crack and or reseal mark? Silicone?

What plecs do you have in there? And for the benefit of EVERYONE, stay far away from EBJD's.

Like the wood. Like everybody said, change the gravel and you'll be good.

Also you could keep a JD (or an EBJD) in there but you'd have to lose everything else. I've bred JD's in a 29, it's tight but it ain't like keeping an oscar in a 29.

I like the wood, the slate not so much.

If you are concerned about your plecos getting the fiber/wood they need in their diet then try some choya wood. I picked up a piece at Michel's craft store for like $5 and my plecos love it! They prefer it over any driftwood.

Is that anything like the cactus wood/skeletons that they sell for reptile hides and rain sticks? I thought that stuff had the same name (choya).

For christ sakes LEAVE THE KID ALONE!!!!! Stop backing him into corners that he may or may not have to lie his way out of. This is a public forum, and those of yall who insist on following his threads around and slamming him aint gonna last long around here.Honestly I dont care how many fish he keeps in there, as long as he is happy. Kids got 2 HOB filters on a 29g, thats tellin me that its getting at least10x filtration an hour, so just keep doing regular water changes and enjoy yourself CB. Oh yeah, the wood looks great, change the gravel......

yes but when hes not taking advice of anyone and making pointless posts, HES GONNA GET FLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYMMEDAH!!

the wood looks great but i would try attaching the slate to the bottom of the wood and covering it w/ a different substrate...something that matches the carpet. haha, just messin' w/ ya. i know you're tired of hearing about the substrate (what is it, anyway?), but it's not going to bring out the colors of the fish at all. at least paint the back of the tank, too or paint some cardboard black and tape it to the back.

the slates to hold the wood down obviously and ya you seriously need to change that gravel dude.

I'm glad your uncle let you get driftwood, your two plecos probably love it. You mentioned you were going to make something to support the tank corner, what did you have in mind? You could probably just go out and grab a piece of plywood as long as it covered the whole footprint of your tank. Then you could put that blanket thats under your tank on top of the plywood, and voila! Just as pretty, way more support.

I didnt see where you tank broke, but did see the glass. If the rest of your tank is made with glass that thin, your best to use the new one your uncle bought you because that thin of glass, will surely break again under pressure.

What is your current stock list? What are you "getting rid" of now?

:)

Why don't you take out that gravel, and just go with barebottom? It will probably look better. and that way you wont have to ask your uncle if you could get a different colored gravel.
