3 newer pics of my bigger FM.. and one more pic of my plec and wat kind is he???

It's a common pleco. Unfortunately, it will quickly outgrow your tank....
But, it's got a nice pattern for such a little guy. :)
Every time I see one, I miss my 18" snow king pleco...

I really like that piece of driftwood... not a huge fan of the red rock - is it holding the driftwood down or what?

If you are looking at a new substrate, check out pool filter sand. The stuff I have is a nice white colour with black flecks, and is very clean, great-looking sand. It would add a nice contrast to your driftwood and is VERY cheap.

That sand, your driftwood piece, and maybe a few plants would make that tank look awesome. I siliconed some of the sand to some PVC joints in my tank for my corys, and it looks great... I always thought plain PVC looked cheap in tanks, so it is camouflaged this way. Could make some nice hiding places for your cichlids.

driftwood doesn't have a natural position so there is no upside down.....it drifts.

Convict, I think you may be a male and female......Look at the fins on the big one, are they longer and flowing? If so, that most likely a male, the other doesnt seem to have that trait so I believe thats a girl....at least you know their straight now, just some youngin's wanting to experiment....but if they start breeding, they are going to be pretty protective, you may have to move the other fish Oh and change your name.....Just sayin

i meant the red flat parts. They look like they should be on the bottom.

I just realized those were rocks. Whats the deal with that?

lookin good cb been a laugh reading this forum (not cause your pic) your fish look healthy and good find with your drift wood

Hey CB the driftwood looks good. It does appear that you have a male and female FMs there. If they should happen to spawn, they'll make it very hard on any other fish in your tank. They are good parents and it's fun to watch them raise their young. Any chance that you'll be able to get ya another tank?

wow this tank is hilarious...nice driftwood, 1 male 1 female FM, get a different color slate, and try to get a background. and i know people have asked you this a thousand times but if we stop asking then you wont do it...when are you getting rid of the fish?(JD, eyebiters, bichir)

FYI, Con, this can mean a number of things, could be about establishing dominance. A lot of times when a fish spreads all of it's fins out, it's attempting to look as big as possible and intimidate other fish...Typically with FM's they display but don't back their bark.

On the other hand, it could actually be displaying for a female, you know, asking for a date, then dinner, then bam, the shocker............

Good advice. This is my experience with them too.

CB - Nows your chance...if she really IS the girl in the avatar, she's cute AND funny. If I were you I'd be on that like a Hobo on a ham sandwich :D

Whoah...too much coffee this morning :grinno:

im glad to see no wars
