Im planning a sump for my 75g tank, what gph pump would i need? the sump will be 35 gallons, i was thinking 1000gph pump, is that overkill? and what brand would be a good pump?

Thanks!

you can drill near the top of the tank gl*******s.com has overflow kits that you should take a look at too theyll include the holesaw to drill also for a 700gph its $79

1000 gph will drop a bit with headloss. You could probably go a little smaller and be fine.

Mags are bulletproof but highly inefficient. Quiet ones are anything but lol.

Lagunas are great too, but my new Reef Octopus Diablo is the quietest and most efficient pump I run. It's also my newest so no long term reports for it, but if all hoes well, it will be my new go to pump for every setup. So far, it's the best pump I own....

The Reef Octopus are expensive, any cheaper options?

Lol my 900th post! :headbang2

Cheaper in initial cost plenty. After years of use?

My Q1 6000 takes 145watts to run. Diablo 5500 55watts. They pump roughly the same amount of water. Considering it's going to run 24/7 365 days a year, it'll level the playing field pretty quickly.

Judy something to consider.
