return pump suggestion for 210 gallon megaflow tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I like the Laguna pump and may go with that one. I'm trying to look at others on the market also before I make a final decision. Anyone have any input on eheim, rio and sicce pumps?

My input on the eheim, rio and sicce pump is to buy the laguna pump. I have 2 max flo 2k's and they are the best pumps I have ever owned. They are dead quiet, energy efficient, tons of flow, great prices and extremely reliable. My power flickers about 3 times a week and the pumps never fail to restart. Which was my main concern...

Awesome! Great responses guys and thanks a bunch! Looks like I will go with the Laguna for sure!

I run mine without the cages and have them hard plumbed. It works perfect and I highly reccomend it.

That's how mine are too, rigid plumbing with a short length of clear flexible plastic tube to connect the pump to the PVC. Sitting the pump on a piece of foam will help keep it quiet.

No complaints, it does what is supposed to do.

I had several mag drive pumps. I had no real issues with them. Like you said, they did their job. But when it came time to upgrade I figured why not buy a pump that does the same job and uses almost half the electricity. Its kind of a no brainer. It pays for itself in a few years. Then it just becomes about personal preference I guess...

I got ya, I'll be doing the same when this burns out or when I have some extra moolah.

Another vote for laguna. I got mine for great price comparable to a mag drive.

The laguna is quieter, more output, easy to use, uses less power. I've got a 2000 max flow on a tank in a bedroom and ypu can't hear a thing. My set ups are all bean animal overflow. So its very quiet all around.
