Revisit to the Beijing Aquarium (1)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
WOW, thanks for sharing. I'd rather have that tacky style here in the US anyday. I understand you want to keep it all legit and hardcore and everything but those of us that have nothing like that here in the US still enjoy those displays and would love something like that near us.:headbang2

I think the Shanghai aquarium is much nicer! tacky to have flower horns, red parrots on display,

and also to have asian arowanas with south american rays together is tacky if you're a public aquarium.

i agree, Shanghai aquarium really sticks to each natural habitat, but these set ups are fun nonetheless :D

you're one lucky guy! There is also a fish street in Beijing, but mostly the popular fish like arowanas, flowerhorns, and red parrot types. Nothing too exciting. Did you see any leptobotia elongata, or elopicthys bambusa at any of these aquariums?

Fliping awesome!! Theres got to be more then 100 archers. All the tanks look amazing!!

nope, i don't think so...i guess they don't display too many species of regional fishes

The basic summary of the sign with the Chinese text is that arowanas are full of some sort of chi and it's best not to raise them at home, especially one that has children. The chi can bring good fortune and chase away evil. Asian cultures believe that the arowana will attract business and keep them in business establishments. However because of the large amount of good "energy" with no bad energy to counteract, it becomes something like "too much good is bad" in a home. Something to do with Feng Shui, which makes it pretty bad for me, since I now raise 3 arowanas at home...
