I had 6 geos with my bahias. All got eaten.

All my baby geos are just as big if not bigger than my bahias right now. They should be ok together for a while. I have 1 geo in my 225 right now and he is too big for the bass to eat. I call him the drill sargent cause he keeps all the bass in check. I think geos are cool as hell too.

nice pickups buu, you gotta be from hawaii only locals call them Tucs...lol but could be wrong...

Haha....yup....from Kauai but in Vegas now. My whole life thats what i knew them by. Then when i got into the hobbie i was WTF is a cichla?!?!?....ohhhh its a tuc...haha. I used to fish for them all the time. Too bad alot of the places to fish for them are private now. State record is still 9.4lbs i believe. Seen the fish in person, mounted at a fishing suply store and that thing is HUGE!!! I can only imagine catching one over 20+ lbs.:nilly:

Bought some new food today.....was using NLS 1mm which seemed too small but good for the geos and the loaches. So got the 2mm and 3mm. The bahia love these pellets and i love it that they sink.

When my other cichlas were babys i starting off with
live tubiflex worms > frozen blood worms > fd shrimp/fd bloodworms > crushed floating sticks/crushed bio gold> and finally on large gold/bio gold/massivore.

So far with the after getting the bahias i fed frozen bloodworms for 2 days and been feeding pellets since and they guys seem to love it.

Did a water change and swapped my filters. Moved the clowns and the rams to the 2nd 10 gal. Now the bahias and geos have their own 10 gal to themselves. Had to break up the party but hopefully everyone is happy.

So last night i do my standard water change in the 10 gallon. After cleaning the 10 gal i decide to fill up my sump in my 225 because i notice it was pretty low.

After finishing the tanks me and my girlfriend decided to go to bed and she turns off the lights and we are about to go up stairs. I stop for a second and hear a "crackling" sound comming from the kitchen. I hear the noise again as i get closer to my 10 gals in the kitchen and i can tell the noise is comming from behind the tank. For a second, i assume the sound is comming from the power surge and it possibly have gotten wet.

As i get closer i can see a little shadow flapping on the counter top. I immediately tell my girlfriend to put the light and and sure enough my biggest bahia is out of the tank flapping on the counter! I put him back in the tank and he immediately goes belly up!!! I gently grab it and place him over the bubbles for a few seconds and it recovers.

After about 15 minutes after i put him back in the tank, i decide to throw in some blood worms to see its reaction. Not long after the bloodworms was in the tank, it was pounding bloodworms with the rest of the crew.

I have no idea how long it was on the counter behind the tank. There is a small space behind the light hood and i think my mistake was filling the tank up back to much. Seeing him go belly up stopped my heart for a few seconds.

Just woke up and check on the tank and it seemed ok. Ill be monitoring extra closely and hope fully everything is ok. Man, it could have been a really sad christmas eve!!!

Here is the survivor....

dang they are looking a lot more yellow/gold since the last time i saw them! looking good and great save! btw you should think about swapping the background to a blue background because it will help their colors pop out.

Close one is right, I've noticed that these bahias like to jump a lot. Glad you made it in time.. How about some larger sized pictures? ;)
