Not in my experience. My 6" rhino pleco is in a planted 75 gallon and does not mess with plants. If anything, it cleans my broad leaf plants of algae. When he was in a tank with sand substrate, he came out and ate pellets off of the bottom as soon as they sank. Awesome fish, named for their horn like nasal protrusions. He does not bother any fish and they don't mess with him. Definitely a lot cooler than common plecos too.
I have one of these in my 240 it's around 12" so far, they are awesome looking plecos, Nice looking pleco you got there! and yes they will mow through your plants like there is no tomorrow.
