Rhom or Sanchezi

ANY serrasalmus can be boring in juvenile stages of life. Just as any Serra can be extremely active when that young as well. Just depends on what you're dealt.
Good Choices on the rhom or sanch. Can't go wrong with either one with a 55. If they were all in front of me, I'd lean towards the rhombeus because it would take a good long time to outgrow the 55.
I've always found that when they are in front of me, in a store, look for the ones that hit the food quickly....particularly if they aren't afraid to do it in front of you.

any idea how long would take a rhom to grow from say~5, 6" to 10"+ , assuming good amount of quality food and water parameters?

A friend of mine grew his rhom from 5.5" to 9" in a little over two years. He was very lucky though. Most do not have that kind of success.
Alot of people will tell you and inch a year after 6"....but thats just a ballpark figure. They can grow more one year and alot less the next. You never know.
The big thing is finding the right fish. Its hard to do that on internet sales...You end up having to trust the word of the dealer. Some of them you can trust, some are just looking to empty their tanks.
My Rhom is in my face all the time. Constantly patroling. As far from boring as it gets.

i have 5 peru rhom and they aren't shy they are only 3 inch they are not p*****. they have bullied full grown mbuna. i'd go with rhom there not boring at all just keep a couple of pieces of wood and some plants.
