How would a ribbon snake do in a 20 gallon?
I was planning to do a small water portion with a raised land area, slate rock with a. Uva/b light over it, and different types of plants. The water section would have breeding livebearers as food, and meals would consist of fish, and as he got large enough, pinkies. I wanna do crickets, but it depends.

Questions I have:
Substrate? I've seen people use gravel raised much higher on the land side to create that beach look, but that was a cwd and with snakes I feel like the gravel would irritate it.

Plants? What kind of emersed cool plants could I do in either the wet or moderately dry sections?

Would my setup be too wet and cause blisters?

How can I make a beach?

Thankkkksssss :)

Okay you will want to use some sort of substrate that drains nicely to lift the land side of the tank up (like gravel) and then add your substrate on top of that. Honestly though I do not think this will be a great set up for a ribbon snake since they don't like to get too wet and they like to burrow. Also if you are planning to breed fish then you must be planning on having at least half the tank filled with water which would mean the ribbon snake does not get enough room. If you are really set on doing a paludarium, I suggest upgrading to a 55gal or bigger, otherwise just stick to a vivarium and sink a nice natural looking water bowl into the substrate.

the style tank ur listing would be better for a rough green snake or something of the sort
