1. A man was to be sentenced, and the judge told him, "You may make a statement. If it is true, I'll sentence you to four years in prison. If it is false, I'll sentence you to six years in prison." After the man made his statement, the judge decided to let him go free. What did the man say?

2. You have a barrel of oil, and you need to measure out just one gallon. How do you do this if you only have a three-gallon container and a five-gallon container?

3. If your sock drawer has 6 black socks, 4 brown socks, 8 white socks, and 2 tan socks, how many socks would you have to pull out in the dark to be sure you had a matching pair?

4. What is broken every time it's spoken?

1 & 4 were already answered......

2) Start with the 5g. empty. Fill the 3g pour it into the 5g barrel , you will have 2g of empty space in the 5g left. Fill the 3g again and fill the 5g. you will have 1 gallon left over in the 3g barrel.

3) 5....you have 4 different colors, the 5th sock has to match one of them no matter how many socks you have.

It goes up, but at the same time goes down. Up towards the sky, and down towards the ground. It's present tense, and past tense too. Come for a ride, just me and you.
What is it?

if that's too easy...

There is a seven-letter word in the English language that contains 10 words without rearranging any of its letters. What is the word?

Elevator or escalator, both work.

and

Therein......the, there, he, here, rein, in, her, ere, herein, therein
