I am made with an egg,
I have plenty of backbone, but lack a good leg,
I peel layers like onions, but still remain whole,
I can be long, like a flagpole, yet fit in a hole,

I travel the same path day after day,
a never ending loop that is to say.
I have many uses, many indeed,
for each I may travel a different speed.
I am commonly associated with an assembly line,
a transporter which can stand alone or be part of many in a vine.
I can move an object from point A to point B,
not a person is needed, leave it all to me.
I am furthermore found in many a store,
a helping hand to do a chore.
Now please tell me, if you will,
what am I, which hardly stands still?
