Well the way its "supposed" to work is the following.
On spinning outfits: You hold the rod with your dominant hand and reel with the other
Conventional outfits: You reel with your dominant hand and hold the rod with the other
I fish like the above stated and am righty..
Im guessing that on spinning outfits your dominant hand must be on the rod because of the various twitches and how its more comfortable to control something with your dominant hand.
On conventionals i find it alot easier to thumb the spool and control my cast with my dominant hand, and since these reels have more drag you need your stronger hand to reel them in!
