Temensis Progress Update!
Got this group of Cichla temensis (Remove strain) delivered from Fugupuff on 4/30/25 at just 1.5”–2”!

A total of 11 came in — one was a little runt

so not 100% sure if they all made it, but the journey continues!

My goal isn’t to grow them to 30”+ monsters (though that would be awesome

) — instead, I’m focused on growing out this group in hopes of forming a breeding pair

. It’s gonna take some time, but if it works out, it’ll be 100% worth it!

As of 7/8/25, they’re sitting around 6.5” and growing strong! On the 30th of every month, I’ll post progress pics and updated sizes. I’ll only net out one fish to measure each time (because trying to trap them all in their pond is a headache

).

They’re currently eating a full variety of Hikari pellets and loving it!

Water temps are sitting between 86–92°F thanks to the summer heat. Once winter and cooler months hit, I’ll drop the temps to around 80°F to slow their growth and metabolism. Then next spring/summer, I’ll raise temps again to boost things back up.

Stay tuned! This is an ongoing progression thread — all updates, changes, and related posts for these temensis will be dropped right here.
Enjoy some fresh pics from today
