Rio Mag and Magnum X Umbee Growouts

Updated Umbee Pics from today. Still need to work on my photography skills and train them to pose for pictures better. The Magnum X is kind of shy when the camera is out unlike the largest Rio Mag who's kind of an attention whore. She/he is the dominant one in the tank though and is the only one to display that black stripe along the lateral line at all times. If she is indeed a female as was suggested on here, would it help the others to develop/grow if I was to remove her to another tank? I'm hoping this would give the Magnum X the opportunity to take over tank dominance and outgrow her since he(guessing) is the next largest.
As much as I wanted to keep the tank bare bottom for ease of cleaning I gave in the other day and added a 50/50 mix of blue and black gravel. I thought I'd rinsed it well but the tank still got cloudy for a few hours after adding it. I did notice an immediate improvement in color on the umbee, but the cloudy water made it hard to get good pics. 
try having the room dark with no light at night; and the tank light on.
The mother goes out to the front and flares all over the front of the tank. She had an attitude of a foo lion.
I suggest you try that with your female see if she does it too. it's pretty fun to watch

I almost never have the room light turned on and never when I take pictures. I forgot to close the door to the room for those last pics and the tank light for the 135 might still have been on when I took them.
I did get to see her put on a bit of a show earlier today. A while back I took out the 2 juvenile jags I had in the 300 with the umbee because at the time one of the jags was bigger than them and would some times bully the umbee. It never really did any damage just chased them around the tank a bit. I didn't want the umbee stressed so the jags went to the smaller tank. That 135 also holds a 9" peacock bass likes to bully smaller fish. Today I introduced the jags back in the big tank. The larger jag 5.5" got in the tank and thought it was going to take over. Well the big Rio mag showed him who's boss and later the Magnum X did the same. There was a lot of flaring from both sides some lip locking battles that the umbee won, and some nasty tail slaps from the big girl. Now that the jag has learned it's place everything is peaceful again.
All the umbee come to the front of the tank when I walk in the room begging for food, but as soon as I pull out the camera they loose interest. The two largest are starting to develop their trailers and the rest are growing well although slower than the largest two.
