The tank dimensions are 6.5 x 2 x 2.5 with a 4.5 ft sump. Needs to be bigger really, as he's still growing. I'd advice bigger the better.

There's now another option, lake guatape umbees. by far the most freckles ive seen on a blue freckled umbee, and has very vibrant colors. i know umbee king had some wildcaughts recently. those would be my pick
Thanks - Do you see any difference from the Rio Mags other than the freckles? Do they have the same tall profile, large nuchal hump, long trailers, etc.?
I haven't seen any specimens of the lake guatape umbees over 12" yet. The largest one I've seen is a specimen by "Noel umbees" and it has more of a streamline body. Absolutely beautiful fish though
I've seen one of umbee kings wc guatape males years ago before he passed. that was one of the fish used in making the ultimate blue project. as far as profile goes that fish had a very tall one. was an amazing umbee and one of the reasons why the ultimate blues I've owned all seemed to have tons of freckles, great profile and great color.
