Wanted to share an update since adding some finishing touches. Rummy nose, flame back bleeding heart tetras, and leopoldi angels added. Cichlids are the heckel discus, cupids, notophthalmus pikes.

Amazing! Really authentic looking biotope.

Can I ask, do the cichlids eat the tetras?
Any plans for plants in the future?
Also, how do you clean the detritus from underneath the driftwood?

Cheers and great job.

Thank you. These cichlids should be fine with the tetras. I have floating dwarf water lettuce as my plants since there are no aquatic plants in large swaths of the rio negro. Cleaning underneath the wood is a huge pita.

I spent the first 30 seconds admiring the discus and the scape, I spent the rest of the video looking for a pike up until near the end. The movement from the tetra helps and the discus look like they are really making progress. I think you need a tripod lol

Thanks. I do need a tripod. Shaky footage. My wife always talks 5h1t about my filming...lol

I said it because the video came out quite impressive. If you set up a tripod I'm sure you'd get some quality stuff, I think a time lapse could be super interesting. My hands shake worse than yours in my vids, that's why I'm a phone video guy.

Just brilliant. Love that tank.So much interest going on with the different species.
I really like the way the tetras school through the roots and wood tangles.
I could watch that tank for hours.

that's awesome, if you're open to feedback; seem's quite busy, admittedly I don't know if the biotope is that dense, so correct me if that's the case.

You make a great poiint. I overstocked the rummy nose due to their high mortality rates. I Wil have to thin down 1 or 2 leopoldi as they grow as wel. Great eye!
